Here is my repeat listeing for the month of August. We start with I WANT by DVD. This was inspired by having seen them support Radium Dolls and had been checking out more of their music, stumbbled upon this one and liked it. Chase Your Tail and Hive Mind I can not remember how they came to be in the list but they are fun. Very different from each other but both fun. Handout is embarrassingly my first Miss Kaninna‘s to make a list, which is doubly annoying because I now realise I could have caught her at The King Street Crawl. Next time. Something Good was literally cause I was having a dance to it in the kitchen one night and thought I’d like to do more of that. New to Lambrini Girls and this song is a fine intro. Big Truck is Laurie Vincent from Soft Play‘s side project and Rebounder is a fun intro if you haven’t heard them before. Cliche – my eldest intorduced me to and my number three promptly told me it was weird I was listening to it. Poles is the new Special Features and it is beautiful, disturbing but beautiful. Think I heard Changes as a sound track to something I was watching and did a bit of reasearch and can’t find much about the artist Antonio Williams but I liked it. I was recommended This Is Lorelei and popped Oh No Now My in the mix to keep me interested. Marianne is the new Fontaines DC and they just keep getting better. Pigwig is the new Bloc Party and it has got quite a bit of criticism, and it isnt their best song but still better than most of the crap floating round, and Kele’s voice has to count for something. Someone told me not to do something, and I of course immediately said in my head, in Amy Taylors voice, “U Should Not Be Doing That” and went along doing whatever it was, embracing my inner Amy Taylor. So that went in. Swamp I found on an industrial metal instrumental playlist and loved it, infact the whole list was kind of cool. Last but not leasat We Are Golden by Mr Daniel Johns, a song I always come back to. So that was August. Some fun tunes.
