Here is my July playlist. You might notice some of the bands I saw during the month, like ECSR and TFS. Then some I unfortunately didn’t, Sex Mask. Bloc Party have a new release so that is in there of course, but there are a few old Bloc Party too, to keep me on my toes. A Heart the Size of a Horse by The Black Heart Procession got in there because I saw an interview with Tim from Have a Nice Life, ( and many other bands) and he ranked it as one of the saddest songs he knows. At least, if memory serves me right, the interview was with Tim….. at any rate its a good song. I think I was looking back on earlier months playlist and saw DIIV and thought I’d have another look at their catalogue and Doused stood out, so that went in. I had not heard of Alien Nosejob, (late to that party) but saw an interview with, I can’t even remember who now, and they were talking them up so I had a listen and liked City Life, so that got in. I think the Tess Parks Somedays was reintroduced to me by a soundtrack, but I can’t remember what I was watching. Small Hands by La Dispute and Clean by Depeche Mode were in the background of reels I think, and reminded me of how much I like them so they got in. And then C.O.F.F.I.N got in with their new single. Oh and Bananarama – Cruel Summer, ’cause its awesome.
So that is it I think.
