Live music and gigs are my happy place. I love being anonymous in a mosh or lost on a dance floor. I try to catch as much live music as my wallet will allow.

Most of the gigs I go to are Australian bands playing local venues. They also provide one of the best opportunities to discover artists you may not know.

It is cool to wander into a local pub and see a band you’ve never heard of. Or arrive at your gig in time to see all the support acts. I am a big advocate of making sure you support the support. One of my favourite sights at a gig is the headline act watching the support band; it endears me to a band that I obviously already love, given I am there to see them.

Having said that, there have been occasions when I have just gone to see the support act and then hung around for the headliner. In fact, as a youngster, I can think of a few times I went for the support and left before the headline. Support acts are important.

All that aside, this is where I will be sharing the live music I have seen – probably accompanied by some hastily taken photos and dodgy videos with me singing along.

Front End Loader, a band I have left after seeing support another band…..
